The “Mental Health Literacy in Youth Work” project (Project Number: 2025-3-ES02-KA153-YOU-000367834), coordinated by Asociación VANA, was implemented in Madrid, Spain, from 4 to 10 April 2026 under the KA153 – Mobility of Youth Workers action of the Erasmus+ Programme.

Throughout the project, participants engaged in a variety of educational activities designed to enhance their understanding of factors affecting young people's mental well-being. The programme focused on identifying early signs of challenges such as stress, anxiety, burnout, and depression, while exploring practical approaches that youth workers can use to support young people more effectively. Through interactive workshops, case studies, group discussions, and peer-learning activities, participants exchanged experiences and explored good practices from different countries.

A significant part of the project was dedicated to creating inclusive and supportive environments where young people can feel safe, valued, and empowered. Participants worked on communication strategies, safe-space methodologies, and youth-centred approaches that promote emotional resilience and well-being. These activities enabled the group to develop a shared understanding of effective tools and methods that can be integrated into everyday youth work practice.

The project also contributed to strengthening participants’ international cooperation skills and increasing their awareness of Erasmus+ opportunities and the Youthpass process. Intercultural learning activities encouraged collaboration among participants from different backgrounds, fostering mutual understanding, solidarity, and the development of long-term partnerships between organizations.

By equipping youth workers with practical knowledge, innovative methods, and greater awareness of mental health issues, the “Mental Health Literacy in Youth Work” project contributed to the development of more inclusive, supportive, and sustainable youth work practices that promote the well-being of young people across Europe.
